Meet Amy
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, with a Minor in Psychology, from Cleveland State University. I grew up just south of Portland, Oregon, and now live in East Texas with my partner, three dogs, and four cats. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling to Oregon and Arizona to see family and friends, catching a baseball game at a local ballpark, or exploring other countries to learn about new cultures and traditions. I also love continuing to grow as a therapist by attending conferences and trainings that keep me inspired and connected to the mental health field.
I am currently licensed and offer telehealth therapy to individuals who reside in Texas, Oregon, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida.
I work with adults 18 and older who may be facing challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, substance use, or disordered eating such as binge eating. I especially enjoy supporting women and older adults, as well as those connected to the adoption triad—particularly birth mothers who have placed children for adoption. I also have a passion for working with people who are navigating life with ADHD. Past clients have often shared that our work together helped them feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
Approach
My therapeutic approach blends modalities—most often Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I aim to create a collaborative, non-judgmental space where you feel empowered to explore your thoughts and feelings. When helpful, I use humor and relatable examples from movies, TV, and pop culture to make concepts stick.
